THE BLACK LIST welcomes all genre hybrids in screenplay formats. From 1 to 1000 pages we accept and award them all! Judged by acclaimed screen writer from all over the world.

GUEST JUDGE: KATHRYN BURNETT

Kathryn is an award-winning screenwriter and playwright who has worked in the NZ television/film industry for over 20 years.

She has significant television and film credits and has been running writing and creativity workshops since 2010. She regularly runs sell out workshops at the Auckland Writers Festival and has helped hundreds of writers take their work from good to great as the Lead Tutor of Beginner’s Guide Writing Workshops. She recently co-wrote tele-feature “The Tender Trap” which picked up the NZTVA BEST Drama Script Award 2021. Her most recently produced TV credits include “The Brokenwood Mysteries” , “Under The Vines” and “My Life is Murder.” In 2020 she was the script editor on TVNZ’s limited series “Black Hands“. The world premiere of her latest play “The Campervan” enjoyed a sell out season at the Pumphouse Theatre in September 2022.
