All of our film submissions are accepted through FilmFreeway. If you type “HybridGenre” into FilmFreeway’s search bar, you will see HybridGenre Canada, Australia, we also have an exclusive festival based from France. Each of these festivals accepts international submissions of film and scripts and we welcome you to submit to all three!

Because we are a smaller festival, we cannot offer free submission to every filmmaker who requests it. However, you can often find exclusive deals and waivers at https://www.cinecine.fr/deals, or by signing up for their mailing list.

HybridGenre welcomes films and script of ALL genres. Yep - we screen them all, from westerns to dark comedies, to Christmas-Horrors; anything you can make!

We accept shorts, features and all lengths of screenplays

YES! We accept films from any year and any country, and do not discriminate based on distribution status. Even if your film is already public on YouTube or Vimeo, we are still more than happy to consider it for one of our festivals.

The deadlines and notification dates for all our festivals are available on their respective FilmFreeway festival pages. Please check directly with the FilmFreeway page for specific deadlines, notification dates, and event dates. They are subject to change.

When you win an award or are selected as a finalist, you should receive an email notifying you of this achievement, with a link to your laurel. If you have not received this, we encourage you to check your spam! However, we also welcome you to make your own customized laurel using the FilmFreeway Laurel Centre. This way, it will match the style and aesthetic of your film.

At this time, we do not offer reviews or feedback on any of our film submissions.

We receive a lot of amazing submissions every year, and we can’t screen or award every single film - no matter how much we want to! We understand the tremendous effort that goes into creating your film, and we ask that you not take it personally if your project does not win an award, prize, or placing at one of our festivals.
